  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Serving

  • 8 taco shells or tortillas
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Shredded cheese
  • Sour cream
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Lime wedges
  • Salsa or hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Cook beef: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned (about 5 minutes). Drain excess fat.
  2. Add aromatics: Add diced onion and garlic to the beef. Cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  3. Season: Stir in taco seasoning and beef broth. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until liquid is mostly absorbed. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Warm shells: While beef cooks, warm taco shells in the oven or tortillas on a griddle.
  5. Assemble tacos: Fill each shell with seasoned beef, then top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and cilantro.
  6. Serve: Serve hot with lime wedges and your favorite salsa. Enjoy immediately!

Chef's Tips

  • Make your own taco seasoning: cumin, chili powder, paprika, oregano, garlic powder
  • Try ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option
  • Make it a taco bar and let everyone customize their own
